RECYCLE CEREAL BOXES

Many of us eat cereal or have people in our household who eat cereal. Here is an article I found about recycling those boxes.
Enjoy!

Cereal boxes are a great source of cardboard for a whole range of projects, making them too valuable to just stick in the recycling bin. Here are some ideas to get your imagination going on how you can reuse your cereal boxes.

1.Gift Box
Forget about purchasing boxes and bags for packaging presents. Cereal boxes are perfect for many gifts, especially those of the flatter variety like hand-made frames or clothing.

2.A New Wallet
With a few quick cuts and folds, you can have a neat DIY wallet that will last a surprisingly long time. It might be unique, but not the oddest project we've seen!

3.Business Cards
We're always looking for ever greener business cards. For boxes that are blank on the inside (which can be a rare find these days), you can cut pieces to business card size and write, stamp or print your info. Not only is it green, but it's also frugal!

4.A Notebook
Forget expensive moleskins. Make your own cool notebooks with sturdy cereal box cardboard as your cover.

5.Bookmarks
If you're a big reader, cut out strips and add a touch of scrap ribbon and beads, and you have some fun bookmarks.

6.Storage Bins
Thanks to an easy pattern from Urban Nest, you can cut and sew your way to some beautiful fabric-covered storage bins that are as fancy as what you'd find in a store, but a fraction of the cost.

7.Magazine Holders
Simply slice the top and cut diagonally from one top corner to the middle of the opposite side, and your magazines will finally stay upright on your bookshelf.

8.Postcards
Sending an unexpected note to someone with the logo of a cereal box on one side can be a fun way to say hello. Just be sure you make it standard postcard size, since the post office can get picky.

Bonus: Don't forget that the cereal bag can be reused too. It's perfect for reusing as a piece of wax paper for cooking or craft projects.

FREE TOTE BAG

Tote Bag In 5 Diffrent Colors You chose!

We are a group of individuals determined to make the world we all share and live in a better place. One major issue with this society is not reusing plastic bags, when shopping. I understand that this is hard to get into the habit of doing, but if everyone even used 1-2 bags less, that would save us billions of plastic bags internationally. Our goal is not to convert everyone to use only plastic bags. That is simply unrealistic. Instead bring a reusable grocery bag/tote with you next time you go shopping. Use that instead of a plastic bag. If everyone uses one less plastic bag, that is ALOT of plastic bags! Come on people lets do this. Spread the Word. We are giving away (hopefully) millions of reusable grocery bags for free! These bags are completely new and never taken out of their package from the manufacturer. Available in 5 different colors for you to choose.

Fill out the form below to request a 100% Free, Reusable grocery tote. Please know that this offer is good while supplies last. If you request one, you must use it. (This is why we are doing this) Don't let it sit around.

You will also be sent a bumper sticker that says "I helped save the environment" (Valid while supplies last)

Cardboard TP Ideas

This weeks cool TP cardboard idea is pretend binoculars. This is a great project to do with the little ones.

Follow these directions and find out how to make pretend binoculars using bathroom tissue rolls.
Materials Needed:

•2 Cardboard Toilet Paper Rolls
•Small Piece of Lightweight Cardboard (From a Cereal Box, Etc.)
•Paint
•School Glue
•Scissors
Instructions:
Paint both cardboard toilet paper rolls. Set them aside to dry.

Cut a piece of lightweight cardboard2" x 6". Paint it and set it aside to dry.

Once all of the paint is dry, place a line of glue down both long ends of the 2" x 6" piece of cardboard. Set the toilet paper rolls down on the glue, let the glue dry.

Technically now, your binoculars are done. If you like, you can add some embellishments to your binoculars such as beads, feathers, or sequins. Another item you can add if you like is a strap. Simply tape of glue a piece of yarn or string onto your binoculars so you can wear them around your neck.

Cardboard TP Ideas

It's sunday!!! So here is our cool idea of the week. Another cool halloween or anytime idea.

Hand Print Spider Craft

You can make a variety of spiders using these directions, a toilet paper roll, and hand prints. Bugs can be hung from the ceiling on a string or piece of thread or taped to the wall to look like they are crawling.

•Age Guideline: 3 Years and Up
•Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

•Toilet Tissue Roll
•Construction Paper
•Wiggle Eyes
•Pen or Pencil
•Paint
•Stapler
•Craft Glue
•Paint Brush
•Scissors
Instructions:
Start out by stapling both ends of the toilet tissue roll closed. Paint the toilet tissue roll black or whatever color you want your bug to be as this will be the bug's body.

While the paint is drying, trace both hands onto construction paper. Cut out the hand prints, cutting off the thumbs so there will be just the four fingers. These will be the spider's legs.

Glue each hand to the back of the toilet paper roll so there are four legs on each side of the body. Curl the bug's legs under a little bit to give them a little bit of shape.

You can now glue on wiggle eyes and also use scraps of construction paper to make a mouth, teeth or fangs, and any other details you want!

This project was found here!

FREE COFFEE FROM 7-ELEVEN

Free coffee from 7-Eleven every day through 10-31-2009
I didn't see this when searching for it, but I think this has been available since 10/07.

7-Eleven has a lame dating game at the711club.com to "wake up to a hot Brazilian" ... coffee. At the end of the dating game, however, you get this:
http://www.the711club.com/coupons/coupon.pdf

Here's the text of the coupon:
FREE GRATIS
Hot Beverage
Good for one 12-oz. coffee,
cappuccino, hot chocolate or tea.
Excludes espresso-based products. Offer good at participating
US 7-Eleven stores. Limit one coupon per customer per day.
Offer not valid with any other coupon or discount. No cash value.
Copies or reproduction by any means
is prohibited and shall void the coupon.

Now, I don't know how reproduction of a .PDF coupon voids anything, but there ya go. It says right on it that you can get a free one every day.

So I just went and tried it. It scanned in perfectly, and then the manager proceeded to fight with me for five minutes because it's printed. He said that he's worked there for 9 years and never had a printed coupon before. But viral marketing didn't exist 9 years ago. Anyway, he finally gave in saying, "Today only," but I think I'll fight with him tomorrow, too, because he pisses me off. I'm going to bring my laptop in and make him scan that since he won't accept a printed coupon.

Cardboard TP Ideas

This may sound a little weird. I was checking the guest bathroom to see if I need to replace the toilet paper, and I found an empty cardboard tp holder. I remember as a child recycling them for an art project. I started to think there are probably a million projects I can do with the TP holder. So every Sunday for the next few weeks I will try to post 1 new idea for the TP holder. If you have one you would like to share, please feel free to leave a comment and I will be glad to post it the following week. These ideas can work for the cardboard paper towel holders as well. They may need to be cut down to the TP holder size to work for the projects.

Now, Since Halloween is coming up, I figured this weeks idea should be related to halloween.

Halloween Suprise Tubes

Materials Needed:

•Toilet paper roll
•Halloween printed fabric
•Ribbon
•Glue
•Treats (see Suggestions below)

Instructions:
Cut a piece of fabric big enough to cover the toilet paper roll and have a couple of inches hanging over each end of the tube. Wrap the Halloween fabric around the toilet paper roll and glue in place. Tie (in a bow) one overhung end of the fabric with 3 - 4 different colored ribbons. Fill the fabric covered tube with trinkets, candy, and confetti. Tie the open end up with the ribbons. Place sticker on the tube.

You can put anything in these. When I made them last year for my son to hand out to his classmated for halloween, they loved them!!!

This idea was found Here!

Note: These also can work great for easter, check here!

scariest Halloween costume ever

Want to have the scariest Halloween costume ever, start some buzz handing out leaflets at school or around town, or just take some sweet Facebook pics and get the word out about McDonald's cruel treatment of chickens? You've come to the right place!

Every year, millions of chickens are raised and killed for McDonald's restaurants. Many of these birds suffer broken legs and wings and other serious injuries. They have their throats cut while they're still conscious, and many are even scalded to death—despite the fact that less cruel slaughter methods exist. Chickens need your help!

By filling out the form below, you'll receive a pack that includes a limited-edition "Evil Ronald" mask, stickers, petitions and leaflets to help get the word out about McCruelty at school and around town, and more!
