Which is better, wholesale or retail?
I have been shopping a lot, and trying to find deals for a group of orphans we are trying to get ready for school. My father told me he would take me to get some items whole sale. Normally, my guess would be wholesale is cheaper, but today I proved that theory wrong. The boys need boxers and socks, aside from many other things. I went to a wholesale place today. The boxers did turn out cheaper at $12.00 a dozen. At walmart the cheapest boxers were 3 for $5.00. Now at walmart you could decide to go with boxer briefs and get 9 pairs for $5.00 make it cheaper to buy at walmart, but if boxers are what you want, then it is cheaper to go wholesale/ buy bulk.
Now the socks. One wholesale place was selling the socks for $3.95 a dozen, which I thought was amazing. It is the cheapest, but the problem was they didn't have all the sizes I needed. I went to another wholesale place and found the socks for $6.00 a dozen. Now that doesn't sound too bad, $0.50 a piece. I went to walmart later and I found that I could get 10 pairs for $4.00 make it once again cheaper to go to walmart for the children. It was cheaper to go to a wholesale place to get the socks for adults. Now the socks I got are nice socks, champion brand. If we were looking at the brand, then wholesale is the place to go, because I couldn't get that brand for that cheap.
Basically, if looking at deals, couponing and shopping frugal is how you do things, wholesale really isn't neccesary to get the best deal. Keep in mind, that I went to wholesale places in a big city, making their overhead cost a lot higher then some of the other wholesale places. This just means I may have paid more due to to them having to charge more to stay in business.

GRR... CVS
I need a moment to vent. I went to CVS, I don't necessarily go in to CVS often. I had a few rainchecks I wanted to use. One raincheck is for a 24 pack of regular #2 pencils that are $2.79 a pack. The sale price was $1.99 with a $1.99 extra bucks. Well today the pencils are on sale for $1.50. So as the woman is explaining this to me, I was thinking "ok, what is the problem?" So she called a manager over who told me I can't use the raincheck today but I can get the pencils for the sale price. I explained all I wanted to do was get the raincheck and that I don't care about the sale price. He said he could not go back in the system and change the price because it is on sale cheaper then the cost of the raincheck. So I asked him if I could at least get the extra bucks for $1.50 instead of $1.99 and he said there is nothing he can do and walked away from me. How rude! So as he was walking away I told him I need these items for a charity, we are getting school supplies for local orphans and I don't have time to wait until the sale price match the one on the raincheck. So now I am not sure what to do. I really need the pencils for the orphans since we are going to be putting together the book bags next week and the following week the kids start school. I am extremely pissed off at how rude the manager was and how he just walked away. And it just doesn't make any sense to me why if I want to pay more for a stupid item why they can't make it happen. I had a $1.99 extra bucks that I wanted to use. So now is this worth calling the CVS customer service line? I really don't feel like I want to make trouble, but it is stupid that I couldn't walk out with the pencils.
Any suggestions are greaty appreciated. If you have any similar storiees you would like to share, please feel free. Thanks!

Target deals
I went to target to see what kind of school supplies are on sale. This is what I found. Crayola 10 pack markers are on sale for $1.00 each. They are the not the normal colors, but rather tropical colors. The 2 packs of target brand glue were $0.22 cents each. The crayola 24 pack of crayons are $0.25 cents. If you want to save a few mores cents the 24 pack of the roseart crayons are $0.20 cents. Elmers glue is $0.25. Loose paper is $0.75. They had nice bookbags for $6-8.00.

Claire's Deals
I was at the mall on Sunday. I stopped by claire's because I love the 10 for $10 deals on accessories. While I was there I found two pairs of little kid shoes in the bin. I was told by one associate that they are part of the 10 for $10 deal. I was shocked but I took them because we have some orphans in the community that most likely can benefit from them. While there I got a few pairs of accessories for me. I also got 2 packs of tights for the orphans to wear with the adorable shoes plus other cool items. When I got up to the register a different woman told me that these shoes are 2 for $10.00 I went to check the wall but they weren't any shoes on that wall, only sandals. I went back to find the other woman and she gave them to me for a dollar each. I'll try to take some pictures of the awesome shoes.

Staples Deals
I stopped by staples to see what is going on this week for deals. This week the notebooks are on sale for a penny each up to 6. After that you pay only 33 cents. I made 2 trips to staples which is right around the corner and got 12 for 12 cents. Also, label makers are free after a mail in rebate. Be sure to get your label maker while you are there. There is also an electrical pencil sharpener that is free after mail in rebate. Unfortuntely for me they were out, and there are no rainchecks for free items :-\ The deals end Wednesday. Enjoy!

RITE AID REBATES
Rite aid has this awesome rebate plan that I would like to share with you. Every weekend there are a few items that are advertised for free after rebates. Also there are items that are just a lot cheaper with the rebate. The rebates are not your normal rebates. You don't have to fill out a form, put it in an envelope and waste a stamp. It is a lot simpler.
At the end of every month, (you have a whole month) go on the website and put all the items you purchased on your account to submit for a rebate check. It is great because it just uses your receipt number to locate your purchase. Once you have all your receipts showing you submit your request for a single rebate check. The best part is you get one check with the monthly total without mailing supplies for every request.
You do have to submit all the receipts at once. You can add receipts as you get them, but not submit the request. Let me explain this. From March 1-31 you can submit all the rebates from Feb 1-28. You can only submit one time so you need make sure you have all the receipts attached to the online request before submitting that request. Once you have submitted you are no longer allowed to submit a request for Feb.
Once you get online to submit your first rebate you will see what I mean. However if you need me to clarify how this works, please comment on this post or contact me privately and I will be glad to help.

Staples
I stopped by staples to see if there are any good deals. I did find one good deal. All wide ruled and college ruled filler paper (loose paper) are a penny each. There is a limit of 5 packs. I paid $0.05 for 5 packs of paper, sweet. I wouldn't necessarily drive over to staples if it is out of your way, because there isn't that many good deals, but if you are around a staples, I would hit them up for the paper.
