old navy

Yesterday, I did my typical clearance shopping. I went to old navy, and they had tons of clothing for $5.00. I bought a pink hoodie and a fusha colored top for $10.00 The total savings was $20ish. Old navy has already cheap prices, but can't complain about the discount.

my cell phone insurance

Normally I am not a big fan of paying for cell phone insurance but this time it has been a life saver. I have a bad habit of dropping my phone. I have always purchased tough looking flip phones just because I know I am going to keep dropping it, and most of my phones have lasted for years. This year my husband thought it would be nice to get me the palm pre. I absolutely love the palm pre, just one problem. Every time I drop it something super bad happens to the phone. Now I have been extremely careful with this phone because I know it can't handle the abuse I would normally put a phone through. The first time I dropped the phone, the slidder messed up. I also cracked the top of the screen. When I took it to the store, they said they would replace it for me, because of my lovely insurance. When I got it back, the speaker and mic no longer worked :-(. I got the phone replaced. The new phone I have gave me issues with the speaker, I couldn't use the loud speaker so while talking on the phone one day I decided I would juggle the phone on my shoulder while holding a lot of stuff, the phone took a nice dive to the concrete floor. Once again cracked the screen a little. Also, it messed up the phone, it won't hold a charge, however I could talk on speaker after the fall, something I couldn't do before. I went back to the store, again they said I would fix it. I bought the insurance for incase i drop it, it gets stolen, or any other issues that may happen that just aren't normal wear and tear. They tried to sell me an insurance for normal wear and tear. For anyone considering that, don't! Your phones come with a 1 year manufactor warrenty for normal wear and tear. Most phone companies let you get the insurance later on in life, like after the year if you choose to. But no need to pay a few bucks a month for something that is already covered. Anyways, that is my two cents for the day. Anyone have any good/bad experience with your phones/phone insurance/ cell phone companies?

take care!

My CVS deals

Yesterday I went to CVS last night and if you didn't know, there was a rebate on the school supplies yesterday. The pencils, loose paper, binders, pens and little notebooks are all free after rebate. I spent 2 bucks yesterday plus the tax and I got 2 packs of lose paper, two little notebooks, two packs of pens. Plus I got a raincheck on the pencils and the binders. Not a bad deal. Altho I don't need school supplies, I know quite a few people who can use them.

Dollar store parties

When throwing a party remember the dollar tree for all your party needs. With a little creativity you can have an awesome party. Yesterday I threw a party for my cousin. I spent $12 on all supplies necessary for a party (plates, utensils, cups, decor, table cover, etc) I mixed and matched the blue and yellow party stuff to get a nice summer, beachy look. everyone brought food and dessert so I was basically only responsible for drinks and snacks. I bought luau themed party supplies once before. At walmart the items were between $2.50 to $5.00. I went to the dollar store and got everything I nedded for the party and also luau themed for about $10ish. So next time you throw a party make the dollar store your firsy stop.

decluttering my home

So I know I haven't much frugal deals to share with you guys. I have been extremely busy trying to adjust to being jobless. It seems like life is more busy now that I have more time to fill with stuff to do. I honestly thought I would have more time for frugal shopping, and unfortunately, maybe fortunately, I haven't been doing any shopping except for what I need per meal. I have been however going through my apartment trying to get rid of stuff I don't need. (haha most of the items being free things I have collected through the past 3 years of marriage) I am glad to be getting rid of a lot of stuff since our apartment is starting to look cluttered, and I really don't like the cluttered look. I will be freecycling or giving away all the items I no longer want. Thus far I have taken out 20ish books from on top of the bookcase to get rid of. These are antique books, I love the look of antique books in a home. I have used all the ones I want and these just sat there. Now they will go to a home who can use them/ or read them since I never will. Also, a candle chandlier set, plastic curtain rings, and magazines have been removed from my cluttered apartment. I will continue to update you on my mission to decluttering.

My favorite number is 5. I think $5 is a good deal for anything. JCP has its normal $4.97( or $5) clearance deal, be sure to check out your local JCP to see what deals they have. My cousins did her back to school shopping last weeks. She got tops and one pair jeans for $20. That is a such a steal. I also found a top that was clearanced for $5 but had an extra percentage off making it $4. Happy shopping.

NEW BALANCE TESTER

Saving money could even include work out items. New balance gives you an opportunity to try out some shoes and work out clothing for a few weeks. This is great if you are a runner because you can wear down the NB shoes instead of expensive ones you have purchased. The catch is that you only have them for a few weeks. You send them back when you are done and then in the future then send you more. It is also great if you have kids, because kids are always wearing down their shoes. However if your kids are clingy to their shoes, you may not want to get them used to the borrowed shoes.

Delia's

Tuesday I went to the mall. While at the mall I stopped by Delia's. I normally don't shop there but my cousin was looking for a specific item and we thought we would find it there. While we were in the store we saw they had a promotion, try on a pair of jeans and get a $10 off $10 or more coupon on your following purchase. Who couldn't use $10. I was on top of that. I really can't fit into the jeans, it is a skinny girl store. I saw a good deal on socks tho, I love fun looking socks. So they were buy 2 get 1 free. Each pair was $6.00. That is $12.00 for all 3 pairs of socks. Then with the $10 off coupon it came out to $2.00 plus tax.
